![]() And in all this time, as other win conditions became over-prominent and got nerfed as a result, HR has sat untouched out of fear of angering a player base that THEY allowed to foster up. They aren't front-lining some glorious art form of Clash play, they're copying players that made YouTube videos telling them to play the deck. They perceive it as this high-skill strategy where they are taking on high risk in pursuit of high reward, but they're just playing the same strategy that some ACTUALLY intelligent person pieced together YEARS ago. I get that Hog Rider players have hyped each other up into thinking you're all really talented players, but it's seriously the same few series' of placements to (admittedly), efficiently, take out cards. I have no idea how you find something like that but he has and still does it and I believe almost no one who "hates 2.6 because it's skill-less spam and just infinite hogs at the bridge" even knows it has (and requires) this level of depth. It works by putting the musketeer in the back on the outside at a certain time depending on how far the baby dragon has flown and then place the skeletons on top of the musketeer at a specific time so that one is in front and one is behind the musketeer - and the third one will walk around the tower over the inside. ![]() I have learned many new interactions through his videos and it feels like he "invents" (at least some of) them out of thin air but it keeps the development of the deck going.įor example, a few months ago, I saw for the first time that you can split skeletons with your musketeer in a way that an incoming baby dragon will need to kill all 3 of them separately and make for a clean defense. The perfection and creativity players like him have to make the most of the "seemingly basic" cards that it consists of is soo fun. Only bleak, dreary, automata-appealing boredom, destined to weave its way through another half-decade of my time playing this game that, besides for this ONE thing, has brought me a whole lot of joy.Įxactly. But there's no love in Hog Rider matches. And I love the cool matches that I do have, win or lose (especially when I win). Are they Clash Royale veterans who have never evolved past the deck that they built when they Googled "best clash deck 2016 12 wins" as a child? Are people actually just attracted to the mundane, repetitive gameplay?Īt the end of the day, I just want cool matches. It's gotten to the point where I just spell their king tower and try to move on to the next match out of a total disinterest in even providing some sort of mental stimulation to someone who is trying to make my absolutely FRIED Hog Rider neurons fire yet another wave of signals telling my brain to do the same maneuvers I had to do for 10,000 other matches- and they will go for my second princess tower instead of my wide-open king! I have no desire to play with these people. Infinite decks to chose from, over a hundred cards to swap in and out, and yet it seems that half of the community has solidified their gameplay into the same cycle- cycle cards in the back, drop Ice Golem and Hog Rider at the bridge. I don't even have a rough time with most HR players, as I've built my deck pretty specifically to beat down on those players specifically out of sheer annoyance with their prominence it's a matter of entertainment. ![]() These matches are the games that make me love the fantastic strategy that CR provides in bite-sized 5-minute spans of time.īut then, there are the Hog Rider players.Īs soon as you see even ONE of the typical 2.6 cards- Ice Spirit, Skeletons (in the back), Musketeer, Ice Golem, Canon- you already know the whole match. Sometimes I'll see a cool Graveyard deck or something (I rarely see GY at my trophy range), and think, "Wow! I never see anyone play this card." The match ends up interesting, as I'm intrigued as to the unforeseen strategy my opponent might use.
